Media Lab Innovation Festival FAQ
What is a Barcamp?
A barcamp – also known as an unconference – is an open session whose content, topics and schedule are determined by the attendees themselves. Propose the topic at the barcamp and talk to the participants who are also interested in the topic. This way, we break away from a deadlocked agenda.
I am not a media professional – can I still come?
That depends on how your input and background fit into the overall concept of the event. Make us a note in the comments of the registration, and we'll take a closer look.
What about corona regulations?
We follow the guidelines of the government and the RKI. Currently that means there is no mask requirement, but you are completely free to wear a mask at any time. We also don't require negative rapid tests. If you feel sick, we trust you to stay home.
I can't be present all day, is that a problem?
Although we recommend to be present the whole day to get as much out of the day as possible, it is of course okay if you come later or leave earlier.
I plan to launch a startup, but haven't launched yet. Can I still come?
The Startup Camp focuses on startups that have at least a prototype. However, if you are already very, very far and there are only small bureaucratic things left to be done, then we would take a closer look at your case and give you feedback after consultation.
Do you also offer vegetarian dishes?
Our on-site event kitchen is EXCLUSIVELY vegetarian or vegan and sustainable. All dishes are also titled with the ingredients, so even if you have allergies, you know where to grab courageously 🙂.
Where can I find the event location?
We moved to a new location on 31.03.2023. The event will take place at our new office in the House of Communication Munich at August-Everding-Straße 25 (Google Maps).
In which language will the event take place?
English and German. But don't worry - your English doesn't have to be perfect. Our official event language will be "broken english".
Do I need to have anything prepared?
Day 1: If you are a start-up and want to connect with investors, it certainly helps to have a small presentation with you. You also can prepare something for your session.
Day 2: Media creators need to bring little to nothing – at best, just their bright minds and ideas 🙂.
I would very much like to be a speaker. How can I apply?
We are very happy about that! As a Speaker you can contact us at hi@media-lab.de. We will look at your application and get back to you.
